about the video
A village in Tamil Nadu’s Rameswaram is facing severe water crisis as residents are finding it difficult to get hold of drinking water. The severity has increased thanks to the heat wave. The villages had asked the government to make sure there is enough water. However, nothing has been done. The shortage is so bad that travellers are finding it difficult to find water at the railway station. Rameshwaram is a major tourist destination. It is famous for the Ramanathaswamy Temple which is a Hindu pilgrimage site. Water scarcity has been a pressing problem in Tamil Nadu. It has affected agriculture in a huge way. It has even forced farmers in to abandon cultivation of the water-intensive paddy. Farmers have also been protesting for the supply of adequate water (ANI)
