A First Information Report has been filed by Karnataka police against Sonia Gandhi, chief of the Indian National Congress party. A lawyer filed a complaint against Congress' tweets regarding the PM-CARES fund which used the hashtag #PMCareFraud. He claimed that the party was spreading false rumours regarding the fund started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi amid Covid-19 pandemic.
