Jajanga village in Orissa is famous for its extraordinary grass art, where almost 80 per cent of the women are engaged in creating beautiful handicraft items from this humble material. This handicraft industry was started by 'Mahila Samiti' or 'Women Committee' 10 years back. A villager named Swarn Prabha played a vital role in helping the women learn this art. The industry provides employment to more than 50 women.
