Chennai sari makes World record

In an attempt to create awareness about Jainism and to inform people about the Goddess Padmavathi at Krishnagiri in Tamil Nadu, the Shree Parshwa Padmavathi Sewa Trust has made a 2007-feet-long sari, creating a world record in the process. The weavers succeeded in achieving their record in the fourth attempt. The temple trust wanted to popularise the temple of Goddess Padmavathi and spent about 5 lakh rupees to make the sari.
