Sona Mohapatra: ‘Film music has died in India in last few years’

Happy to be called politically incorrect, Sona Mohapatra reflects on the state of Hindi film music. She questions why the music industry is reduced to just a subset of Hindi film music. “Music sells everything, from election campaigns to toothpaste but we want to just live off regurgitated music from the past,” the singer asks.
