Traditional Jallikattu of Tamil Nadu

The taming of the bull or Jallikattu as it is known in Tamil language is very popular sport played in the rural areas of Tamil Nadu. Among them, the one at a village named Alanganullur in Madurai District happens to be the most famous. It is a sport of an encounter between bulls and the tamers staged in a large open field watched by a huge enthusiastic crowd.
