EU humiliates Georgia? Parliament speaker slams Brussels over ‘name-only candidate’ status | Watch

Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili sharply criticised the European Union on Tuesday, accusing Brussels of supporting “radical groups” in Georgia and displaying “arrogant and biased” behaviour toward the country. Speaking in Tbilisi, Papuashvili denounced the European Commission’s latest report on Georgia as “unfair” and “politically motivated,” claiming it uses “ethnic epithets” and promotes “lies and disinformation.” He alleged that Brussels seeks to “discourage Georgia’s EU integration” and manipulate its domestic politics. Papuashvili reaffirmed that Georgia will continue to pursue EU membership — but in a “Europe of true values,” not one dominated by “bureaucratic elites.”
