Belgium vs France: Vermaelen wary of Mbappe threat in World Cup semis

Belgium defender Thomas Vermaelen and midfielder Nacer Chadli talked to the media on Sunday (8th July) as the squad continued their preparation ahead of their World Cup semi-final clash with France on Tuesday (10th July). Some of the stars of the squad, including forwards Romelu Lukaku and Eden Hazard, did not train and worked apart with the physio. Belgium won 2-1 against Brazil in their quarter-final match in Kazan on Friday (6th July) and for the first time in 32 years are in a World Cup semi-final. Belgium are unbeaten in their last 24 games (19 wins and five draws), the longest undefeated streak among the four teams left in the tournament. Belgium reached the quarter-finals in the last European Championship and were eliminated by Wales. They had lost in the quarter-finals at the previous World Cup as well against Argentina. After topping Group G ahead of England, Tunisia and Panama with three victories out if three, Belgium beat Japan 3-2 in the round of 16 and then Brazil in the quarter-finals. (Video: SNTV)
