Gaza militant group Hamas has denied Qatari claims that it gave an “initial positive confirmation” to the proposed new hostage deal with Israel. Qatar had announced that the new deal, chalked out in Paris, was accepted by Israel while Hamas gave an initial approval. The militant group, however, termed the statement “rushed and incorrect”. Hamas, however, confirmed that it is studying the three-phase proposal which includes a six-week pause in the war, and release of remaining hostages in installments.
