Houthis confirm killing of chief of staff Al-Ghamari; issue big warning to Israel over Gaza truce

Yemen’s Houthi movement confirmed the death of its Chief of Staff, Major General Muhammad Abd Al-Karim al-Ghamari, one of the group’s highest-ranking military officials. The Houthis said he was “martyred” alongside his 13-year-old son and several aides during what they called the “Battle of Al-Aqsa Flood,” part of their campaign against Israel. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz claimed responsibility, saying al-Ghamari was killed by wounds sustained from an August airstrike in Sanaa that also targeted the Houthi Defense Minister and the head of the rebel government. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hailed his death as the elimination of “another chief of staff in the line of terror leaders who sought to harm us.”
