BJP MLA, 4 security personnel killed in Maoist attack in Dantewada

Just days before some areas in Chhattisgarh vote in the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections, a Maoist attack on a BJP MLA's convoy rocked the state. Improvised explosive devices were reportedly used to target Bijapur MLA Bheema Mandavi's convoy. The legislator and at least 4 security personnel were killed in the attack.
