Nobel laureate Abhijit Banerjee speaks on slowdown & battle with poverty

Nobel laureate Abhijit Banerjee spoke on the slowdown in the Indian economy and the battle against poverty at the Jaipur Literature Festival 2020. He said that India has witnessed a massive drop in poverty levels in the last 30 years. He further added that the poverty level has come down from around 40% in 1990 to less than 20% at present. On the slowdown in the Indian economy, Banerjee said that there are some good indicators have emerged in the last two months.
