“Normal” monsoon for India this year
India will see “normal” monsoon this year according to Skymet’s weather prediction, after above normal heat already. Monsoon is considered “above normal” if it’s between 96-104 percent of the Long Period Average (LPA). However, parts of south and north-east India will see below normal or 90-96 percent of the LPA. There will be no drought this year, according to the Skymet predictions. The rainfall will dip in August but will pick up again in September.
