Red Fort or Dalmia Red Fort? Here’s everything you need to know about the adoption

The government has decided to involve the Dalmia Bharat Group in the maintenance of the Red Fort. A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Dalmia Group and the tourism ministry stating the Group would maintain the Red Fort and build basic infrastructure around it along with a commitment of Rs 25 crores for the same purpose. This will be done over a period of 5 years in agreement with the tourism ministry under its “adopt a heritage” project. But the Opposition is not happy. It has questioned the government's move to allow a private entity to maintain the symbol of India's freedom struggle. Twitter was buzzing with comments and memes about this.
