Sabarimala temple reopens after ‘purification’, 2 women had entered shrine

The Sabarimala Temple was reopened after 'purification' as two women had earlier entered the shrine under police protection. This is the first time that women, under 50, have entered the temple. The women, Bindhu and Kanakadurga had earlier tried to enter the Temple but failed to do so. This time, they entered the Temple under police protection and offered prayers at around 3.45 am. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan confirmed the news of women's entry following which the temple was closed by the administration. The temple was re-opened after purification.
