Sri Lanka’s new President accepts PM Modi’s invite, to visit India on Nov 29
India’s External Affairs Minister, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar met Sri Lanka’s new President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on Tuesday. The meeting took place in Sri Lanka’s capital, Colombo. Jaishankar extended an invite to Rajapaksa on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s behalf, to visit India. The island nation’s new President accepted the invitation and is set to visit India on November 29, 2019. A day earlier, Rajapaksa was sworn in as Sri Lanka’s seventh President.
