‘Why is govt scared of naming China?’: Congress on PM Modi’s I-day speech
Congress has slammed Modi government just hours after he delivered his 7th Independence Day speech from the ramparts of the Red Fort. Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala questioned the Modi government for selling off 32 Public Sector Undertakings to private players and alleged that such a government cannot protect the interests of the common man. Surjewala also added that people should introspect whether they have the freedom to think and speak freely in the country under this government. The Congress leader also mocked PM Modi's 'atma-nirbhar Bharat' pitch and added that the foundations of a self-reliant India had been laid by the likes of Jawaharlal Nehru and others. Surjewala also slammed PM Modi for not naming China during his speech and asked why is the government scared of Beijing? Surjewala said that China has infiltrated into India territory in Ladakh and asked how the government planned to push them back. PM Modi in his I-day speech had warned India's adversaries for its expansionist policies but had refrained from naming China. Watch the full video for all the details.
