Chief minister BS Yediyurappa won the floor test in the Karnataka assembly on Monday with voice vote. The trust vote came two days after Yediyurappa took oath for his fourth term as the chief minister of the state. While introducing the motion, Yeddiyurappa went on to announce various sops for the farm sector. Soon after the BJP government, led by Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, won the trust vote, Karnataka speaker KR Ramesh Kumar resigned from his post. There was speculation that the ruling party would move a no-confidence motion against the speaker after forming the government.
