Andhra Pradesh faces heavy rains again, 3 dead

Heavy downpour in the state of Andhra Pradesh under the influence of cyclone Nilofar in the Arabian Sea and the north-east has resulted in three deaths. The victims, all women, were washed away in the river stream which had swelled due to the heavy rainfall. The rains have swamped the agriculture fields in Guntur, Nellore, Kurnool, Prakasama and Anantapur districts causing major damage to crops while also leading to snapped communications links in the state.
