Assam violence, not a communal problem?

A local Muslim leader of Assam, Hafizul Ahmed recently said that the recent ethnic clashes at Kokrajhar and nearby districts in Assam were not a communal issue. Speaking to media persons in Guwahati Ahmed blamed certain people including leader of the AIUDF (All India United Democratic Front), Badruddin Ajmal for the violence.
