Bharat Ratna criteria should include sports: Maken

Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Ajay Maken, on Friday said that the Bharat Ratna, highest civilian award in the country, should include sportspersons as well. The state legislature of Maharashtra unanimously recommended to the central government on April 05 that batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar should be conferred with the Bharat Ratna after the Indian cricket team won the 2011 World Cup.
