Biden assures India on Afghanistan, stresses on US concern for Kabul

US vice president Joe Biden sought to ease Indian concern about a possible political settlement with the Afghan Taliban, saying the insurgents would have to give up ties with al Qaeda permanently, stop the violence, and accept the Afghan constitution that guarantees equal treatment to women.
