Budget making process is massive exercise

Preparations for the Budget begin in the month of September each year and every next month, new work is taken up till the month of February. Traditionally the Budget is presented around the 28th of February. But this time it has been delayed to 16th of March because the dates were clashing with the counting for assembly polls in five states.
