Bulletproof vehicles in demand due to rising Maoist menace

With increasing Maoist menace in eastern and central India, demand for bulletproof vehicles has increased across the country. Trade circles say that the indigenous fabricators, still mostly in the unorganised sector, have acquired the expertise to erect frames that can withstand a landmine blast. The cost of overhauling a bullet-proof vehicle may vary with the requirements of the client, ranging from Rs.4 million to 10 millions.
