Clear mandate to Congress

Indians cheered PM Manmohan Singh's ruling coalition's strong election victory, saying it boosts hopes of a stable government as the emerging Asian power faces economic downturn and tensions with Pakistan. Congress supporters had even made a floral image of "Mother India" with Sonia Gandhi's cut out on it.
