Country ready to face any challenge: PM

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday said that the country was ready to face any challenge and that those who wished to weaken it would be disappointed. Addressing a gathering to honour freedom fighter in New Delhi, Singh said, “India knows how to rise to a challenge.” Singh's message assumes significance in the backdrop of India blaming Islamist militants based in Pakistan for the last month's attacks on Mumbai that killed 195 people.
