Debt-ridden farmers pin hopes on ensuing budget

After having faced a tough-time due to insufficient crop yield in the year gone by, the debt-ridden farmers in Maharashtra have pinned their hopes on the Annual Union Budget for 2010-11, to come out of their dismal situation. The farmers in Vidarbha city expect the central government to come up with schemes in the Budget that can provide them with basic facilities to improve their crop yield. Over the past decade and half, Maharashtra has earned the dubious record of hundreds of farmers committing suicide due to their inability to repay loans.
