Digvijay slams Mayawati for not providing funds to stampede victims

Congress party's senior leader Digvijay Singh on Saturday criticised Uttar Pradesh chief Mayawati for reportedly denying compensation to stampede victims. The stampede that was triggered by a massive rush for free food and clothes at Ram Janki temple in Kunda village of Pratapgarh district in Uttar Pradesh killed at least 63 people, mostly women and children, on Thursday. Reportedly Mayawati said in a statement that her state does not have enough funds to provide compensation to Pratapgarh stampede victims.
