DMK threatens to withdraw ministers over Lankan issue

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Muthuvel Karunanidhi has renewed his threat to pullout of the UPA Government at the Centre if it does not take steps to convince the Sri Lankan Government to halt its military offensive in the northern and eastern parts of that country. He said the protection of the civilian Tamil population in Sri Lanka was of paramount interest to the DMK.
