Farmers in Punjab take to banana cultivation

Traditional wheat and paddy farming in Punjab is now a past. Farmers here are now increasingly taking to growing bananas, as assured returns are very high. They are happy with the shift as the high yielding crop is reaping good benefits. Banana cannot be easily grown in the sub tropical areas like Punjab, but the farmers are overcoming these teething troubles by using culture variety that can stand the cold.
