Federal team probes communal situation in Orissa

A federal team probing the situation in Kandhamal district of Orissa on Wednesday asked the provincial government to form peace committees at village levels to restore peoples' confidence. At least 35 people, mostly Christians, have been killed in a string of religious attacks in Orissa state sparked by fears of forced conversion that have also sent more than 20,000 mainly poor, lower caste villagers into refugee camps and shelters.
