Festivity in the air

India is today celebrating the festival of growth and prosperity. As Northern India is drenched in the fervour of Baisakhi, others celebrated the beginning of the New Year with equal enthusiasm. Thousands of devotees thronged in endless queues in Amritsar to pay respects at their most sacred shrine, the Golden Temple.
