Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel on Sunday said that the government would consider putting more capital into state-run Air India if the national carrier improves its operational performance. The government has put Rs 8 billion into Air India in the last fiscal year and has so far allocated Rs 12 billion in its current fiscal budget to help the airline reduce its losses and debt, which has been mounting. Patel said Air India currently has working capital debt of Rs 180 billion.
