Groom beaten up in Hoshiarpur

It was a strange sight in miyani village of Hoshiarpur. A groom and his baarat was on Thursday chased and beaten up by the bride and her family for demanding dowry. The bridegroom and his relatives arrived in the village expecting to take the bride along, but fate had something else in store for them. By taking such a strong stand against dowry, the family has set an example for others in the area.
