India celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi

The nation painted itself in festive colour as celebrations for Ganesh Chaturthi began on Monday. During the festival, also known as Vinayak Chaturthi, thousands of people visited puja pandals set up, especially in Maharashtra . On the culmination of the 10-day long Ganesha festival, the idols would be taken out in grand processions and immersed in water bodies.
