Indian sericulture expert upbeat about northeastern silk

One of India's leading sericulture experts said sustained promotion and marketing could help revive demand for some of the oldest silk clothes that have traditionally been produced in the country's northeast for centuries. RK Dutta, former Director Central Silk Board, a national organisation for overall development of sericulture and silk industry, said the states in the country's remote northeast produce some of the finest and exclusive quality of silk.
