Kalam not to contest for Prez

In an official statement, former President APJ Abdul Kalam has today told the Bharatiya Janata Party that his conscience doesn't allow him to contest for the post of President, a decision that is most likely to send the BJP and Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee in a fray. Despite BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani trying to persuade him to contest for the presidential polls, Kalam had indicated his unwillingness to contest for the esteemed post.
