Lankan FM meets Krishna, denies its navy's involvement in fishermen killing

After meeting with his Indian counterpart SM Krishna in Thimphu on Monday, Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Gamini Lakshman Peiris said that its Navy was not involved in the killing of Indian fishermen. Peiris called on Krishna on the sidelines of the regional South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) conference. Peiris also contended that his government's initial investigation had shown that its Navy was not involved in the death of the Indian fishermen but Sri Lanka is open to any new evidence.
