Maoists kill five policemen in Chhattisgarh

Maoists killed five policemen near a police camp on Thursday in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh.The policemen were carrying out a search operation in the interiors of a jungle in the district, which was away from their base camp when the ambushed Maoists opened indiscriminate fire on them. The cops died on the spot and security officers in the camp, who rushed to the site after listening to bullet sounds, later recovered their bodies. Maoists also stole an AK-47 rifle and an INSAS rifle from the deceased policemen. Chhattisgarh police spokesperson R.C. Shrivastav said search operations are being carried out to arrest the Maoists.
