Mayawati suspends 2 IAS officers

Within hours after taking oath as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, BSP supremo Mayawati on Sunday suspended two senior IAS officers for failing to maintain the Ambedkar Park, a multi-crore park in Lucknow dedicated to Dalit icon B R Ambedkar. Satish Chandra Agarwal, former principal public works secretary, and B B Singh, vice chairman of the Lucknow Development Authority, were punished for failing to ensure proper upkeep and maintenance of the Park.
