Police arrest three Maoists with 7.6 million rupees cash in Orissa

Acting on a tip-off, the Anti-Naxalite Squad of Orissa Police on Friday arrested three Maoists, including two women and seized from them arms and cash amounting rupees 7.6 million. The top brass of the police disclosed this to the mediapersons at Rourkela. Briefing the mediapersons, Yashwant Jethwa, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Rourkela Range said the man has been identified as 25-year-old Prasanta alias Shiv Munda. A member of the Dakshin Chhota Nagpur Zonal Committee of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), Munda was operating in the forest areas of Orissa and the neighbouring Jharkhand state, Jethwa informed. He said that the Maoists were arrested while trying to escape in a vehicle.
