Police seize arms from Maoist hideout in Chhattisgarh

Acting on a tip off, regional authorities seized massive cache of arms and ammunition from a Maoist hideout in Bhanupratappur village of Chhattisgarh on Sunday. Station House Officer R. S. Thakur said that they acted on a tip off and recovered the arms from a nearby forest. The Maoists have spread into rural pockets of 20 of India's 28 states. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has termed them as India's gravest internal security threat.
