As India's poll panel slapped notice on socialist Samajwadi Party for violating the election code, main opposition Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday rapped party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav while central main ruling Congress party played soft with its key ally. The Election Commission has asked Yadav to explain by Saturday why wads of notes were distributed during the Holi festival celebrations at his Saifai village on Wednesday.
