Prime Minister calls for pro-active coordination

Inaugurating the Naval Academy of Indian Navy at Ezhimala in Kerala, on Thursday, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said that the Navy and Coast Guard should coordinate effectively with the intelligence agencies to counter all marine-related threats. He recalled that the Mumbai terrorist attacks have highlighted the need for heightened vigilance and response to asymmetric threats emerging from the sea.
