Rabbit farming booms in Kashmir

The business of rabbit farming, which was on a decline in Kashmir due to violence, has once again gained pace after the beginning of the peace process between India and Pakistan. Characterised by nascent and essentially small scale and cottage entrepreneurship, the sector is providing employment to a large number of people in the state. The state now has over 250 private small and big rabbit farms out of which 50 are in state capital Srinagar alone.
