Passengers, when asked about their expectations from the Railways Budget 2015, said that there was a pressing need for the Railways to improve basic facilities. For instance, punctuality, cleanliness and availability of train tickets remains a concern for passengers. They also added that a hike in train fares is justifiable as long as the number of trains are increased. Meanwhile, copies of the Railway Budget have reached the Parliament amidst tight security. Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu will present Railway Budget for fiscal year 2015-16 in the Parliament on Thursday. This will be the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA Government's first full-fledged railway budget.
