Rape of minor: Police chief refuses to quit

In wake of escalating protests in New Delhi over a demand for justice for the five-year-old rape victim, and pressure mounting on him to step down, Delhi Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar on Monday ruled out his resignation, saying the problem is one of mental depravity, and that nothing would be solved by him or anyone else resigning. Kumar assured that ACP B.S. Ahlawat, who was caught on camera slapping a girl, would be subject to a departmental inquiry by the Government of Delhi. Kumar, who was talking to the media at the Delhi Police Headquarters, said that his department would leave no stone unturned in identifying the person, who attempted to bribe the victim's family.
