The rising gold prices are disappointing the buyers in Kolkata as they are forced to cut down on the purchase of gold, an important Indian wedding gift. A four-day matrimonial fair saw people from all over the city thronging the venue to buy gold but the high prices left the people disappointed. The organisers said that according to the latest figure available, there was an increase in the average gold price.
