RJD wins Maharajganj; Lalu says its Nitish govt’s defeat

In a major victory for Lalu Prasad Yadav, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has managed to snatch the Maharajganj Lok Sabha seat from Bihar's ruling Janata Dal-United (JD-U) in the bypoll. This is the first time in seven and a half years that the RJD has defeated the JD(U) in a byelection.
