Communal violence in Rohtak has so far claimed the lives of three and injured over 100 persons both police personnel and locals alike as they scuffled over removal of a religious sect. Earlier, an angry mob clashed with the police and had set two buses on fire during the violent protest against the opening of an Ashram of a controversial Godman. Police personnel reinforced their ranks with paramilitary personnel of the CRPF and the RAF to ensure that the unruly mob could be pacified or controlled.
